FIRST THURSDAY POETRY: JON ANDERSON

Jon Andersen and fellow Quinebaug Valley Community College Poets will be the featured readers for June's First Thursday Poetry Reading.

Jon Andersen, Associate Professor of English and author of Stomp and Sing (Curbstone Press 2005). Andersen has read his poetry widely in the U.S. and England. In September, he will be a featured reader at the 49th Annual International Writers' Conference in Belgrade.

Zachary Watson: The new President of the Student Government Association was the winner of the 2011 Julius Sokenu Poetry Awards. Watson has given numerous presentations of his highly performative work, that is not afraid to engage the political world with a mix of playfullness and gravitas.

Craig Dziekan: Once a carpenter by trade, Craig is now pursuing a degree in the visual arts, taking courses at QVCC and Eastern Connecticut State University. His poetry, full of brio, visualizes the world for us with surprising and delightful results.
