Volunteer!

The Hygienic relies upon the generous support of individuals in our community, for help in staffing the gallery, in working on projects such as renovations and gardening, for special event staffing and for fundraising. Without the efforts of our volunteers, Hygienic would not exist. Volunteerism and activism are at the core of what we stand for and what we believe in. The Hygienic is not only about art. It is truly about building a supportive community of individuals who come together for a common cause, who know that art belongs at the heart of our city and that all people deserve a voice.

There is a wide range of volunteer opportunities for interested individuals. Keeping the gallery open for visitors is a priority. Currently we are seeking volunteers to staff the galleries during our normal operating hours (Thursday 11am-3pm, Friday 11am-6pm, Saturday11am-6pm and Sunday12-3pm). To get involved please e-mail the gallery manager or call 860.443.8001 with your contact information, areas of interest or available times and someone will get back to you promptly. Also, please feel free to stop by the gallery at 83 Bank Street in New London, Connecticut to speak with a volunteer, or to fill out a volunteer interest form. We welcome all.
