- So you like the Hygienic. Why is that?

I love every aspect of the art business, especially creating works and going to openings for my exhibitions and other artists as well. Art, chatting, wine. There just isn't anything better.
The work I have been doing reflects my love and concern for the environment of bodies of water intermingling imagery, histories, legends and river science. Many of my images appear to look like aerial photographs or topographical maps. They are in fact dimensional mixed media “paintings” which use many traditional and non-traditional materials. My paintings evolve in multiple layers of latex, acrylic and oil paints, mica powders, objects, ground glass, patinas, chemical reactions, and ink, all embedded in layer upon layer of resin. Anything I find interesting or unusual is fair game. For me, resin is a metaphor for water. The layering of materials in resin is meant to make you feel as if you were seeing through water. Textures, cracks and other patinas are an important facet of my work and give the pieces a sense of history or story for the viewer to create. My paintings are like little bits of archeology digging through a multi-storied depth.
