Started in the Kid's Hands-On Art section of the Frist Museum of Art in Nashville, I couldn't help but take advantage of the free watercolor paper they offered. Started there and finished at home with mixed mediums.

Drew French is attending Hygienic Art's event

CALL FOR ART!!! ONE PIECE PER ARTIST, ALL ARE WELCOME! at Hygienic Art Galleries

January 29, 2011 from 8am to 6pm

The Hygienic Art XXXII Salon des Independents will open on January 29 at 8pm at the Hygienic Art Galleries at 79 Bank Street in Downtown New London. Sign-in and hanging begins that day at 8am and runs to 6pm. The show is open to all artists, everyone is welcome. The exhibition is well-known for its diverse original art ranging from the sublime to the outrageous. We hope you'll join us by submitting a piece! See you at Hygienic!

Profile Information

So you like the Hygienic. Why is that?: After moving here in 2001 from Tennessee, the Hygienic has been a source of inspiration and solace for me. I have been to several of the exhibitions and have many local friends in the arts and music family here. I feel it is the true heart of New London, and I am finally getting the nerve to submit my first pieces.

Are you an artist?: yes

if yes, what is your medium?: primarily photography, but my inner talent lies in mixed media, kind of a lowbrow psychedelic abstract

have you shown in the annual Hygienic Art Salon des Independants? What years?: No, I have not, but would like to for the upcoming Hygienic XXXII show. Here is a link to some of my earlier work, some of which was worked on in New London at the coffee shop formerly known as Mugz ( when it was Mugz)
