Kay Pere said… - I have an L&L 18 inch that I got through Rusty Kiln. Iron oxides are fun to work with. They yield some interesting results when applied thickly and fired to Cone 6. Don't know if you're supposed to do that. I'm sort of an experimental ceramicist.

- Hi, Lori: I tried to post a response before but must have missed a step. Here goes again.
I've been using Sheffield stoneware clays. The "Body Wisdom" piece gets its patina from a very thin layer of glaze that seals the surface but adds very little color. Then the kiln went a bit hotter than expected and darkened to piece to a nice deep tan.
Your dogs are a lot of fun! Lots of personality.
